What We Offer The Trust offers a number of public programs throughout the year. The Trails Committee hosts a guided hike in February, for Groundhogs Day, generally one in the spring, and mid-week hikes many months throughout the year. In the fall we co-host the Autumn Moonlight Walk. All hikes are announced in our newsletter in the local papers, and on this web site. In November we hold our Annual Meeting. This allows us to offer speakers and other programs of interest to the general public. Our newsletter, The Lay of the Land, updates our members on Trust undertakings. Our award-winning Guide to Madison’s Trails is sold locally at The Audubon Shop, and R. J. Julia’s Bookstore. You don’t need to be a member, or even a Madison resident, to enjoy all we have to offer. But by joining us, you’ll help to assure the future of our town’s natural heritage, woodland hiking trails, undisturbed ledges offering magnificent vistas of the surrounding land and sea, and quiet places where glimpses of wildlife can be had for free. Tidal and fresh water wetlands that are host and nursery to so many species of plant and animal life such as fish, ospreys and terrapins, to name a few, will remain intact. Your participation will go a long way toward helping to accomplish our goals. |
