Neck River Uplands

The Newest Trails on Madison Land Conservation Trust Property
In 2002, the MLCT committed itself to the purchase of the Uplands and development of a unique natural preserve. The Uplands consist of 115 acres in the geographic center of Madison that border and help protect the integrity of the Neck River. While our purchase is not yet complete, a trail system has been created to facilitate enjoyment of the area. Extensive trails have been laid out on both the Northern and Southern parcels. Until now, only rough maps of these trails have been available. Now GPS referenced maps accurately define this trail system.

Many deserve credit for the work - all who have given generous financial support, as well as the Directors and Committees of the Trust. The result is a very accessible sanctuary for the benefit and enjoyment of all. The GPS maps have been prepared by volunteers Brian Dooley and Megan McGaffin of New England GeoSystems. Dave Roach, Chris Wiebe, Terry Kensler and Ted O'Neill of the MLCT plotted GPS points for the maps. We are very grateful for their help and to all who have loaned a hand in this effort.
